Law 55/2015: The Strategic Investments Law⁽⁺⁾, formally titled "Për investimet strategjike në Republikën e Shqipërisë" (On Strategic Investments in the Republic of Albania), is an Albanian parliamentary law adopted on 28 May 2015 and published in Fletorja Zyrtare of that date. It establishes the legal framework for the designation of Strategic Investors and Strategic Investments, creating an accelerated administrative procedure for approved projects. Article 9 establishes a Strategic Investment Committee chaired by the Prime Minister. Article 28 authorises the compulsory purchase of privately owned immovable property to enable the realisation of projects granted Special Procedure status, where the investor has been unable to resolve competing ownership claims by agreement. The law has been amended multiple times, most recently in 2024, with its application deadline extended to 31 December 2026.
